Coming From Global Resources or SMS?

If you have reached this page from the Global Resources or SMS websites, you are probably looking for information on what to expect once you are hired by Global Resources or SMS. Save this page if that is the case. If not, check out our job search tools page.

Once You Are Hired
One of the most power tools you can use to help the client are the video testimonials.   Each year about a dozen video testimonials from happy clients ranging in all industries are created to help GR and SMS employees engage the client. These testimonial are extremely valuable.  There are currently more than 70 testimonials that take up over 20 GB of space on your iPad or Android tablet device.

Here is an insider tip on using these video testimonials…it’s not as easy as it seems to get these videos onto your tablet. Not everyone has the same tech skills when it comes to dealing with tablets and computers and losing the first few days trying to figure out how to transfer the video files to your tablet is not how you want to start out a new job. You have two choices. Do it yourself or send your tablet in to have the home office add the testimonials onto your tablet.

Sending Your Tablet In – If you decide to send your tablet into the home office, it is most likely going to take over  week to get your tablet back. Also, only the older versions of iPad can be sent into the home office. That’s the down side. The up side is that you will have all the testimonials that will fit already loaded on your device with no hassle.

Do It Yourself – If you decide to tackle the task of downloading and adding the testimonials to your tablet yourself, you could end up spending a lot of time downloading transferring the testimonials to your device. For those of you that are not as tech savvy, this can be very frustrating. The up side is that if you are tech savvy, you can have your tablet fully loaded in a couple of hours.

Android or iPad? Which Should You Buy?

So let’s back up a bit. You know you will need a tablet to be successful at the job but…what tablet should you buy? There are two basic types of tablets* : Android or iPad. Which one you buy should be greatly influenced by the following factors:

  • Cost –  If the price is your biggest hurdle, you are going to want to buy an Android tablet. Android tablets are by far the least expensive way to go. Even if you already own an iPad tablet, it may be better to buy an inexpensive Android device. Down below I will give links to specific tablets you can buy for both Android and iPad.
  • Your Tech Skills – By far more people have issues with the iPad devices than they do with Android devices. So if you are not all that tech savvy, I would definitely suggest getting an Android tablet. If, however, you are tech savvy and are already familiar with iPads and your are already familiar with iTunes, then you should be fine buying an iPad for use with the testimonials.
  • Your Home Computer – Your home computer will play a part in your ability to easily transfer the videos to your tablet. If you have a Windows based computer I would suggest going with an Android tablet over an iPad. If you have an Apple computer you should be able to do either or relatively the same but an iPad may be more familiar to you.

Overall I would highly suggest buying an Android tablet over an iPad simply because of the ease of transferring the videos.

Tablet Buying Guide

Here are the Android tablets I would suggest buying:

Here are the iPad tablets I would suggest buying. These are also WiFI only tablets:

  • 16 GB iPad mini –  This iPad has a smaller screen and will hold the latest video testimonials. It can be upgraded to 32 GB or 64 GB at the time of purchase to hold all of the testimonials. Click Here To Buy.
  • Apple iPad 2 32 GB – This iPad 2 will hold all of the video testimonials. Click Here To Buy.
  • If you do not like either of these two iPads, feel free to browse through the available iPads by Clicking Here. Keep in mind the 8 GB and 16 GB versions will not hold all of the testimonials.

* There are technically three but a windows tablet is more of a micro PC.
